Boomi Process Modes

Process Modes:

Process mode is a feature of Boomi Integration where users can select 1 out of 2 process modes based on their requirements.

Types of Process Modes:

There are two types of process modes available in the Boomi Process:

  1. General (Default Mode)
  2. Low Latency

General Mode:

It tracks all the data of the process while executing like inbound and outbound connector data, Process execution states, Log errors everything. This is the default type of process mode for every integration process, whether deployed or not. This is preferable for the normal processes which are scheduled for regular intervals of time.

Low latency Mode:

Low Latency Mode is another Boomi process mode used especially for listener/event-based integrations.

Since WSS/Listener/Event-Based integrations are expected to complete within a very short amount of time, this low latency mode will be helpful to minimize the process execution time.

Low Latency Mode won’t track the data as the general mode did. This mode won’t track the metadata/outbound, inbound data, and process execution log.

Using this type of process mode, we can improve the performance of the processes by reducing the execution time and we can enable the allow simultaneous executions as well. By default, in Low Latency mode, the “Only generate process log on Error” option is checked. So, you won’t be able to see the logs if the process is executed successfully. If you are handling the error using, try catch without exception Boomi will consider the process execution state as successful so it won’t generate the log for this run. You won’t be able to track the data/logs in this scenario. This is one of the disadvantages of Low Latency mode. Using the combination of low Latency Mode and Atom workers will improve the performance of the Event-Based process.

The rest of the options are common in both general mode and the low latency Mode.
