What is ServiceNow?

ServiceNow is a modern cloud-based workflow management platform that helps enterprises to organize, structure and automate data based on their business or organizational requirements.

Coming back to ServiceNow Connector, as already mentioned, it’s an application connector provided by Boomi to connect to and exchange data from the ServiceNow platform. Using this connector, you can directly connect with the ServiceNow platform, browse the interfaces in real-time, and exchange ServiceNow data with any cloud or on-premises platform.

Using this, one can decide what action needs to be performed over the data in the ServiceNow platform.

ServiceNow Connector provides the following actions:

  • QUERY: This option helps to get ServiceNow objects based on specific search criteria.
  • GET: This option helps to get a specific object from the ServiceNow platform.
  • UPDATE: This option helps you update an existing object in ServiceNow.
  • CREATE: This option helps to create a specific ServiceNow record type or object.
  • DELETE: This option helps to delete a ServiceNow object.

Stores the essential details required for establishing the Boomi-ServiceNow connectivity.

Name: One can set the desired name for the connection in this field.

URL: Stores the URL for the ServiceNow Platform.

User: Stores the username of the ServiceNow account used to log into the ServiceNow platform.

Password: Stores the password of the ServiceNow account used to log onto the ServiceNow platform.

ServiceNow Operation:

Defines the action that needs to be performed on a specific ServiceNow object using the ServiceNow Connection.

  • Name: One can set the desired operation name in this field.
  • Object: The ServiceNow Object against which you want to perform the said action.
  • Request Profile: Defines the schema/structure of the request sent to the ServiceNow connector.
  • Response Profile: Defines the schema/structure of the response received by the ServiceNow platform.
  • Tracking Direction: This enables you to choose whether to track the input or output document and display the same in process reporting.
  • Return Application Error Response: If selected processing continues and passes the error response to the next component processed as the connection output, otherwise stops the processing, and reports an error in process reporting.
