List View Display Options

In Salesforce, there are many different ways to view information. Below we will review the 3 different list views in Salesforce: Table, Kanban, and Split View.

First, to switch between the different list view display options, click the image after the gear icon to select a different view.

What is Table View?

The Table view is just like an Excel sheet or spreadsheet. It gives a table format of data on the object. For example:

What is Kanban View?

This view shows you the records in a pictorial/graphical way.

In the above example, we have selected the Opportunity object. By using the Kanban view, I can move multiple records from one stage to another just by dragging and dropping the record cards. Consequently, all of the summarized calculations for each stage will automatically recalculate as pictured below.

Recalculate

Above, we have moved all the Opportunities in the Value Proposition stage to the Need Analysis stage. As a result, you can see that the summarized Amount for both stages has been recalculated.

What is Split View?

In this view, you will have 2 sections. On the left, you will see the list of records, and on the right, you will see the details for the selected record. In the example below, we can see both sections of the Split view in action.

The various display options for lists helps users quickly view and edit record information.
