Why Enterprise Queue?
Enterprise queuing makes communication possible across distributed systems. Most modern-day queues offer persistent, highly available, scalable, and reliable communication. Especially with the rise of IoT and microservices, Choosing the right one has become a key in a middleware layer.
Picking the right queue enables seamless communication between various systems and applications in an organization. It also helps integrate with legacy systems and handle flows asynchronously. It offers
- Scalability
- High Availability.
- Security
- Data reliability.
- Better Performance.
Boomi Queuing:
Boomi provides an Atom queue with functionalities like enterprise queues, but it is confined within the boundaries of an Atom. Like enterprise queues, Atom Queue offers Point-to-point and Pub-sub options.
Apart from the Boomi Atom queue, it supports other enterprise-grade queuing technologies which integrate well with both legacy systems and modern systems. Some of the enterprise-grade queues supported by Boomi are
- Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS)
- Azure Service Bus (ASB)
- Google Pub/Sub
- JMS
- Rabbit MQ
Benefits:
These queuing technologies make integrations seamless and robust. Also, these technologies bring on board some of the capabilities like
- Event-driven architecture for real-time needs.
- Pub/sub model for better performance and agility.
- Loosely coupled design for reliability and scalability.
Boomi has application connectors for all these technologies and each of these connectors supports Queue actions like
- Read from Queue
- Listen to Queue – Mostly used for Event-based flow
- Write to Queue
- Delete from Queue
Queue actions might vary based on the chosen connector. Also, the Operation of the queue depends on the connector and action.
Note: Most of the modern-day connectors are supported by Boomi and custom connectors can be built using Boomi SDK.
