Account Roles & Security:
The following methods help in enhancing the security of your Boomi account:
Enable Two Factor Authentication
Two Factor Authentication can be enabled by going to Settings > User Settings > Authentication
Boomi supports both okta and google authenticator.
Setting Up User Roles
What a user to allowed to do in Boomi can be controlled by User Roles setup. User Role controls access to various Boomi functionality. Boomi Atomsphere has some inbuilt roles like Administrator, Support, Standard User, Production Support. One can create custom roles in Boomi which requires Advanced User Security feature.
A single user can have multiple roles assigned meaning he can have multiple set of privileges
To manage users in Boomi, go to Account menu > Setup > User Management.
In order to create a user in Boomi, click on the add button highlighted in the previous image and complete the following form in which all fields are mandatory. You need to select at least one user role.
The user email address becomes the user ID. Once the account is created the user will receives an email in the email id entered in the form which will have login instructions to setup a new password.
Custom Roles
Custom Roles gives us the flexibility to be more specific about what the user can access in Boomi. One can create a custom role from scratch or replicate an existing role by inheriting its privileges. A few use cases where Custom Roles are handy:
For example:
If you want to give someone access to Boomi Assure but not to the Developer Console
If you want to give someone read only Access to Build Tab
If you want to give someone access only to Dashboards & Atom Management
You can do that by creating a Custom Role and selecting Privileges available for the role as shown in the screenshot below.
Folder restrictions
The access can be restricted in the folders of the Build tab as well. The folder permission configuration is optional and can limit the users allowed to edit components (processes/map/connectors etc.,) within that folder.
One can still view or copy the folders but can’t edit them.
Consider using folder restrictions for the following situations to avoid inadvertent modification by general users:
